Career Overview
Debra began her career as a journalist and student leader at California State University, Hayward (now East Bay), where she was named Journalism Student of the Year and served as President of the Women in Communications West Coast Chapters. She recently used her skills to develop the largest Outstanding Women Leaders Awards as a board member in a local Sacramento chapter for women business owners.
In the 1980s, she transitioned to the technology sector, quickly moving from telesales to Training Director and Executive Sales Leader at multiple firms. As one of only 17 selected nationwide, she participated in a prestigious leadership development program at Digital Equipment Corporation, where she graduated #1 out of 17. She went on to become a top agent, closing the largest pharmaceutical sale in company history in 1987. Debra built her career in high-stakes, complex account management, specializing in turning around troubled accounts in both the U.S. and Europe.
Following Oracle, she held VP-level roles in five tech startups, focusing on document management, CRM systems, security technologies, and Vice President, Sales for a private global vacation club for high-net-worth clients. Her experience in turnaround sales, team leadership, Business Development and scalable business growth, positioned her as a strategic leader capable of navigating both technical complexity and relationship-driven sales.
Currently, Debra is a Luxury Property, Retirement Specialist, and Real Estate Investment Expert with Nick Sadek Sotheby’s International Realty, specializing in high-net-worth clients and 55+ senior communities in the Sacramento area. With expertise in the Sacramento, El Dorado Hills, Granite Bay, Loomis, and Roseville markets, she has built a reputation for high-touch service and strategic lead generation in luxury real estate.
